Jacques Prost has been named managing director of the Renault group in Morocco, effective from November 1, 2012. Succeeding Michel-Faivre Duboz, who is retiring, Jacques Prost will be responsible for Renault’s sales and manufacturing activities in Morocco.

Effective from November 1, 2012, Gaspar Gascon-Abellan has been appointed director of powertrain engineering, replacing Jacques Prost.



Jacques Prost , born in 1953, began his career at Renault in 1978 at the engines department. He became head of the research department at Alpine in 1985 then engineering project manager for Laguna I in 1990. He joined the powertrain department in 1994. He was named director of the Cléon plant in 1997 and in 2002 headed the X85 (Clio) project at the at the manufacturing and technology department. He was appointed director of powertrain engineering in January 2007. He has been a member of the Renault management committee since January 2, 2008.



Gaspar Gascon-Abellan , born in 1965, is a graduate of the Aeronautic Engineering School at the Polytechnic University in Madrid. He joined Renault in Spain in 1990 at the powertrain engineering department where he held a number of positions in the design office in process engineering, in particular as head of industrial development for engines at the Valladolid plant. In 2005 he joined the powertrain engineering department at head office as project director for the 1.5 dCi diesel powerplant. He was appointed director of all diesel engine projects in 2008 and director of powertrain planning, projects and partnerships in 2011.
