01 February 2012  17:00

In 2011, total production of Renault Group vehicles in France amounted to 646,319 vehicles (passenger cars + LCVs), compared to 636,746 vehicles in 2010.

  • France accounts for 25 percent of the Renault Group's production and sales.

    - To durably extend the activities of its production centres in France, the Renault Group is investing in the production of vehicles which incorporate high added value. This chiefly covers upper- and mid-range European models, vans and electric vehicles and motors.

-As it renews its range of high-end vehicles, Renault will invest €420 million in its Douai factory in France.

    - For the production of Trafic, Renault is investing €230 million in its Sandouville factory in France.

Between 2010 and 2013, Renault will have invested a total of €5.7 billion in its production facilities, with 40 percent of this figure covering its France factories
.

  • The Renault Group would like to recall that its activities in France are not restricted to vehicle assembly (which represents just 15 percent of a vehicle's added value). It is important to note that Renault is an exporter of engines, transmissions and front and rear running gear.

    - 79 percent of rear running gear, 60 percent of front running gear, 37 percent of the engines and 15 percent of the transmissions that the Renault Group manufactures in France are exported.

    - 80 percent of its engineering work takes place in France.
