Renault and the Red Cross work together to help reconstruction in Japan

Over a month after the earthquake that hit Japan, the mobilization of Renault employees and management enabled to present the French Red Cross with a check for €931,000 on Wednesday April 27 , while the Japanese Red Cross is being supported by Nissan The sum was raised through staff mobilization at all levels. More than 1,000 employees made donations on the website of the Red Cross. The trade unions, the RCI Banque subsidiary and Renault management also made contributions, Renault matching the donations of its employees. The money will contribute to help Japanese people in their going back to a normal life.
Commenting, Jean-François Mattei, Chairman of the French Red Cross , said:
“For the unprecedented catastrophe that hit Japan, the remarkable solidarity shown by Renault and its employees plays a significant part in our support for the Japanese Red Cross in the field. These donations are vital for the recovery actions led by the Japanese Red Cross, expected to continue over the next two or three years. I would like to say a big thank you to Renault for its tremendous efforts and the trust placed in us”.
