02 June 2009  02:30

The TCe 100 1.2-liter gasoline engine, launched in 2007, is fitted on Renault’s A and B segment models. Dedicated to driving pleasure, it has the fuel consumption of a 1.2 engine (emitting just 137 g/km of CO2 on New Clio), the power of a 1.4 unit (74 kW or 100 hp) and the torque of a 1.6 (145 Nm). The TCe 100 is a perfect illustration of Renault’s downsizing strategy, which consists in reducing engine capacity and CO2 emissions while maintaining performance through turbocharging.
